Work Team

Four members make up the work team: a director general, financial management officer, sewing and embroidery instructor and special education instructor. Team members continuously seek to upgrade their skills. Team members have a real desire to renew their practice in order to update the means of intervention to the evolving needs of the artisans at l’Atelier le Fil d’Ariane. A specialized educator of the Centre des ressources éducatives et pédagogiques (Educational and Teaching Ressources Center) from the Montreal School Board joined our team. For many years, a partnership agreement with the Montreal School Board has allowed us to improve our program by offering our participants a specialized teaching service. Various communication workshops, introduction to multimedia and artistic creation workshops help broaden the learning fields of our artisans.

The Director General

Gaétan Gagné has been holding the position of Director General since January 2013.  With more than twenty-five years of experience working with a diversified clientele, Gaétan Gagné worked as a specialized educator for six years at L’Atelier le Fil d’Ariane.  A graduate in organizational management from Université Laval, Mr Gagné continues with pride, devotion and determination with the artisans at l’Atelier le Fil d’Ariane as general director.

Financial management officer

Arrived at l’Atelier le Fil d’Ariane in January 2017, Kadiatou Haïdara occupies the function financial management officer. Graduated from Université du Québec à Montréal, she completed her studies in accounting in 2013. Her various professional experiences have demonstrated that she has all the achievements for this position.

Embroidery instructor

As an embroidery educator, Marie-Josée Hamelin joined the Atelier le Fil d’Ariane team in October 2019. Graduate in the fields of textile and graphic design, Marie-Josée has demonstrated that she had the knowledge to accompany artisans in the creation of embroidered works. Ms. Hamelin also has extensive experience in teaching embroidery, sewing, weaving and crochet to adults with and without special needs. She will also supervise the sewing team for embroidery finishing.

Special education instructor

In April 2017, we welcomed as special education instructor Charline Beaudry within the team of l’Atelier le Fil d’Ariane. Mrs. Beaudry completed in 2015 a technique in specialized education at the Cégep du Vieux-Montréal.She is responsible for the follow-up of artisans files and proceeds to the evaluation of new applicants. She livens up diverse workshops favoring the autonomy as well as the social development skills of artisans. She oversees punctually embroidery workshops.

Board of Directors

The renewed commitment and involvement of the Board of Directors remain among the fundamental elements to the achievement of our mission. For several years, each member has taken the responsibility for the proper functioning of our establishment with rigor and wisdom.
Through their dedication to the mission of the Atelier le Fil d’Ariane, they concretely demonstrated their commitment to recognizing the potential of our artisans to find their place in our society.
